Treadmills: Questions And Answers
Why buy a treadmill in the first place?
Treadmills are arguably the best fitness machines that you can have at your home or your private fitness space. With this product in your home, you have everything you need to start your own workout program to tone and firm the major muscle groups of your lower body. This is vital for all of us, regardless of age, sex, or fitness level, and regardless of whether your primary goal is toning, health maintenance, or more energy for daily activities.
What will a treadmill do for me?
It will allow you to do proper exercise, including a low fat diet, strength training and aerobic exercise, tones and conditions the muscles we use every day to stand, walk, lift and turn. It can actually transform our body composition by reducing body fat and increasing the proportion of lean muscle in our bodies. Using the treadmill will help in reducing body fat and increasing cardiovascular endurance.
How much and how often should I use treadmill?
Experts recommend that you do some form of aerobic exercise at least three times a week for a minimum of 20 continuous minutes. Of course, if that is too much, start with a shorter time span and gradually build up to the minimum. Then gradually progress until you are able to work aerobically for 20-40 minutes. If you want to lose weight, you may want to do your aerobic workout five times a week. It is important to exercise at an intensity vigorous enough to cause your heart rate and breathing to increase. How hard you should exercise depends to a certain degree on your age, and is determined by measuring your heart rate in beats per minute. Refer to the “Measuring Your Heart Rate” section below and on the following page for more information on how to determine and measure your heart rate. You can do different types of aerobic activities, say walking one day, and use your Treadmill the next. Make sure you choose an activity that can be done regularly, and is enjoyable for you. The important thing to remember is not to skip too many days between workouts or fitness benefits will be lost. If you must lose a few days, gradually work back into your routine.
Is there any suggested exercise plan?
If you're just starting with serious aerobic exercise you should follow the plan laid out below. For advanced or professional users total time will be much longer and the difficulty level will be higher than shown in the chart.
Anything else before I begin?
Warm up and cool down stretches. Stretches can help improve flexibility and relieve the tightness in muscles that results from repetitive sport movements that require a limited range of motion. 10 to 12 minutes of daily stretching is recommended. This can be done when warming up or cooling down. When performing these stretches, your movements should be slow and smooth, with no bouncing or jerking. Move into the stretch until you feel a slight tension, not pain, in the muscle and hold the stretch for 20 to 30 seconds. Breathe slowly and rhythmically. Be sure not to hold your breath. Remember that all stretches must be done for both sides of your body.

After lots of research I chose the Sole F80 treadmill. No fuss using it, not trembling while functioning, it's robust. I've been a regular visitor of different gyms during the last few years and I've done training on many treadmills, so I have some first hand experience with various treadmills. In my opinion sole f80 can compete with some of the best treadmills out there while it won't empty your pockets as much as some other models that boast the same quality. It may sound weird, but for me the looks and feel of a product is very important. If I don't like what the product as a whole looks and feels like, then I somehow tend not to use it very often and I'm simply not happy. With sole f80 however, I like the design and it feels professional. As for the features, I like the possibility of changing the incline for only a small degree of difficulty when I need to do so. Heart monitor is also there but I must admit I never look at it while running. Instead I enjoy connecting my mp3 and just run as much as I can. To make it short, the price was right for me and with the warranty this treadmill comes with I figured I couldn't go wrong. I'm using my treadmill three times a week for 30 minutes on average. I bought sole f80 for my wife. She said she wanted a 'good one', not like the cheap, no quality ones, she has seen in the past. Well, I went to Amazon and all of them looked similar. I've done some research on the internet and found this treadmill well-rated, so I ordered one. I like sole models because they are well made. However, there are some things that I don't like with sole f80. Firstly, speed transitions are somewhat slow and secondly I feel like there is too much beeping involved with this machine while operating. Nothing abnormal, but I prefer no sound at all. Rating:

I like running and I used to run on the track near the place where I live. However, to get to the place where I could start running it used to take me about 20-30 minutes. To get back to my house after the training it took me the same amount of time. With all the other things I had to do on a daily basis, there were many times when I simply avoided running on my favorite track because I felt I had no time. For this reason I figured it would be a time-saving option for me to get a treadmill. Anyone who wants to buy a treadmill tries to figure out what type of a treadmill is the right one to get. I went to some fitness shops and I tried to ask a few questions but all I got was something like... any treadmill is nice if you..etc. I then tried to see what treadmills are used in clubs and gyms but most of those are too pricey for my taste. I then went on the internet and was a bit dazzled with all the info and suggestions. In the end I purchased sole f80. I guess it was the treadmill that I saw many people have bought and it was also the price which I thought was affordable. The price of Sole f80 is not too high as it's the price of some advanced models, but it also doesn't belong to the group of too cheap treadmills. I didn't want to pay too much but I didn't want to buy some low cost, low quality treadmill. This is the main reason I decided to get sole f80. Anyway, now that I own one, I can say I'm satisfied. I'm not some pro or anything, but it works well for me, it's a solid product for the money I paid and now I run whenever I like without losing any time on going to some place outside and getting back afterwards. Previously I had Precor treadmill and when it came time to purchase a new treadmill I was tempted to get the same brand again, but I'm a type of person who doesn't like when things in life are always the same over and over again, so I finally made a shift to Sole treadmills and ordered f80. To me the deck is better with Sole and the steps I make while running feel a bit softer than with the old treadmill. Before buying f80 I've read somewhere that the noise would be too loud. In my case, I don't think the sound is anything but normal, just as with most other treadmills. It surprises me though, how heavy this machine is. I recommend you start assembling it in the very room you want it to be placed once completely put together, so you wouldn't need to move it around too much. To tell the truth, sole f80 is a folding treadmill, the deck can be folded, and the treadmill can be pushed around but it's just that this is not some cheap piece of a treadmill. This is a bigger one, and it's not easily tossed around. It may also happen in many households that it won't fit through common interior doors. A friend of mine was talking me into buying sole f63 but I finally leaned toward buying sole f80, and the price paid was around $1500. My reasoning was that all the treadmills under $1000 are not intended to last too long, so I was looking into some products that in my view were serious stuff! I would have paid even more money for even harder and more advanced treadmill, but I had no money to waste, so I felt like sole f80 was the right thing for the money to be paid. Sole f80 treadmill has everything that a treadmill needs to have, and I have nothing to complain about. Somehow, I just wish I had 3000-4000 USD to spend on fitness equipment like treadmills and eliptical trainers, because I'm an avid runner and I like tech stuff, so I just wish I could buy the most advanced and most expensive machines available. It's only been two weeks since the treadmill f80 was delivered to my door and put in action very shortly thereafter. I'm using it more for fast walking and less for running. I'm a pretty heavy man with more than too much pounds, so in my case fast walking is a demanding activity. Before this one I had Proform treadmill and it served me well, even though there were some minor issues to deal with. I'm always preparing myself meticulously before taking any action, so before deciding which treadmill to buy, I've done a decent job of researching all kinds of technical things and features. Why have i bought sole f80? For me the main reason was the really nice warranty and overall quality of the machine. There are many treadmills available, but many of the cheaper ones aren't capable of handling a very heavy man and also many of the really good treadmills are way too expensive and even over-priced. Sole f80 comes with a reasonable price and is big enough and heavy enough to handle some harder pounding. Now, I have f80 in my room and I just do some streching before getting on f80, and then I'm walking as fast as I can for as long as I can. I guess that's why I bought it..lol Enjoy! Rating:

I knew the treadmill wasn't something small but still I'm amazed how big and heavy it is. I needed a friend to get to my house to help me put everything in its place. It took us about an hour to assemble the treadmill and I expected this to be more troublesome so I was relieved when I finally saw my sole f80 completely set up! The art of using the controls is nothing an ordinary person can't grasp. You need a bit of playing around and testing different features but you'll learn everything sooner than later. Something I'm especially sensitive about when it comes to treadmills is the sound of the motor while running. You can never have a motor quiet enough, but with f80 the sound is acceptable and I don't have problem with this. The monitor is OK. Let me just say, at first I wanted to buy Sole f85, but I like to keep things as simple as possible, especially when it comes to electronic devices and when I look at it now, I think I don't need anything more fancy than the f80 treadmill. The fact is that I'm an uneasy and apprehensive shopper, particularly in case of a purchase with the price over a 1300 bucks. Every salesman will tell you any treadmill is the right one for you, provided the price of a specific treadmill is exactly how much you're willing to pay. If you're willing to pay they'll say that's exactly the treadmill for you, no matter what the truth really is. Also while reading all the reviews online I noticed there is positive and negative comments for every model possible. So, how could I make a decision here? I focused on four main things: warranty, price, brand and design. I established Sole to be a trustworthy treadmill manufacturer, the price of sole F80 falls within a medium grade, the warranty is fine and the design is satisfying. That's the thinking process that led me to the sole f80. Let's say that warranty offers as follows: motor and frame lifetime, parts 5 years, and labor 2 years. Handrails are something I really like with this treadmill. I can simply push incline buttons and put my body to a harder training instantly! Mp3 can be plugged in, the quality of a sound is not like having a professional headphones on your ears, but it will fulfill your desire to have some music around. At work we have some really hi-tech treadmills and I noticed that treadmills there are changing speeds and incline degrees somewhat faster than my f80, but on the other hand my treadmill is a thousand dollars cheaper machine so I guess that's not an issue really. Anyway, if you have more money you can buy F85, but for the money equaling the price of F80 you'll get a good treadmill and I believe you won't need anything else for your running needs, unless you're a professional guy training for the olimpics of course!
